Your support for our fundraiser/charity 5k will directly help aid women & their spouses that suffer from infertility. With little assistance from insurance companies, offices, grants or other assistance, our goal is to offset the huge financial burden of infertility treatments. Infertility treatments can literally cost a couple hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars per cycle. Most women that are successful with IVF aren’t until their third or fourth cycle!In my case, that’s $50-$70 thousand dollars!

• Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples.
• Women (40% of people dealing with infertility) can have premature menopause, autoimmune disorders, hormone disorders, PCOS, fallopian tube blockage caused by a number of different issues, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, chronic infections, congenital defects, cancer…all causing their infertility issues.
• Men can have scarring of the vas deferens from infection, vasectomy, and hormones. They can also have BPH, cancer, diabetes, HIV, UTI and thyroid disease. Going through testosterone therapy, chemotherapy, smoking, genetic disorders, and even varicose veins of the testes can cause male infertility.
• Treatments include: medications with intercourse; IUI (think turkey baster with fresh sperm); IVF (egg retrieval and sperm in a petri dish then transfer of an embryo to the uterus); IVF with ICSI (same thing as IVF but they use take a single sperm and inject it into an egg, let it sit in a petri dish then transfer of an embryo to the uterus)
